Funding for International Conference
Eligibility
Target Applicants: Full-time NCU students (Master's and Ph.D. students).
- You must maintain full-time student status continuously from the time of application until the end of the conference.
- Each applicant can only be subsidized ONCE within the same fiscal year.
Funding Coverage
The total subsidy amount is subject to the official announcement by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). The grant covers:
✈️ Round-Trip Airfare
Direct economy class flight tickets between Taiwan and the conference destination.
💼 Registration Fee
Official registration fees required to attend and present at the academic conference.
👩💼 Living Allowance
Only provided IF there are remaining funds left after completely covering your airfare and registration fees.
Required Application Documents
- Official acceptance letter from the conference organization.
- The complete abstract of the paper to be presented.
- Recommendation letter (system-generated: automatically sent to your supervisor via the platform).
- Other supporting documents (e.g., the full text of the paper).
🚨 CRITICAL ACTION REQUIRED: After your supervisor uploads the recommendation letter, the system will automatically route the application back to you. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SUBMIT IT OUT to the school to finish the application by clicking "Send out to agency"!
Application & Reimbursement Procedures

Submit Documents to NSTC System
Applications must be submitted via the online system strictly 2 MONTHS before your conference starts. Late submissions are absolutely not accepted by NSTC. If you do not have an NSTC account, please create one first. Application is online ONLY.

• Conference Date: Sep. 10 - Sep. 14 ⮕ Deadline: Jul. 31st
• Conference Date: Oct. 28 - Nov. 02 ⮕ Deadline: Aug. 31st

OIA Submission & Reviewing
OIA will batch-send out all completed applications on the very first workday of each month for NSTC review. The NSTC reviewing process takes at least 4-6 weeks.

Result Notification
NSTC will officially send the results and notification documents directly to your respective department.

Register in OIA System Before Departure
Before going abroad, you must submit your application logs in the "NCUOIA Go Abroad System". Please carefully review all notices, procedures, and rules on the platform website.

Post-Conference Upload to NSTC
Submit your final report and total expenses breakdown on the NSTC system within 15 DAYS after the conference concludes. The total reimbursement amount CANNOT exceed the granted funding (please ensure all items add up exactly to your approved funding amount).

Submit Receipts to Department Assistant
Provide your round-way tickets, proof of ticket payment (either the credit card statement or the travel agency receipt), official registration fee receipt, proof of registration payment (credit card statement), and the printed "NCUOIA Go Abroad Application Form" to your department assistant to initiate the reimbursement inside NCU.

Final Account Finalization
The Accounting Office will pass the vetted forms to OIA, and OIA will then forward your report to NSTC. *Note: This phase may take more than 4 weeks depending on the accuracy and validity of the receipts provided to your department assistant.
