☀️ Announcement of Application Dates for Each Semester

The application date for NCU Scholarship for Fall 2026 Semester starts from July 6th to July 20th, 12:00 PM, 2026.

👤 Eligibility:
  1. All current international students who were admitted in the Spring 2026 Semester (excluding non-recipients of the NCU Scholarship or dual-degree program students).
  2. Graduate students who are pursuing doctoral degrees.
  3. Students who are expected to resume their studies in Fall 2026 Semester.

📅 Please note: The deadline for instructors to submit final grades for this semester, Spring 2026, is July 2nd. Students who intend to apply for a transcript for this semester are kindly reminded to consider this timeline.

⚠️ Late submissions will not be accepted. Please submit your application as early as possible according to the timeline.

Application Process

Confirm Application Time
  • Current Students: Check the schedule on OIA website.
  • New Students: Submit along with admission application.

Prepare Required Documents
  • Official Transcript
  • Appraisal Form & Student Counseling Document
  • Copy of ARC (Purpose of residence must be "Study" or "Dependent")

Submit Documents
  • Submit to Ms. Britney in OIA.
  • Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
  • May ask friends to help submit if you are not in Taiwan.

Confirm Disbursement
  • Check your account accordingly.
  • Stipends will be DELAYED during the month of semesters start and Lunar New Year.
📌 Students who apply only for tuition and credit fee waivers must also follow the same application process.
📌 Students who hold Dependent Visa, ARPC or Taiwan Employment Gold Card must submit the NCU Work Commitment Declaration for Scholarship Recipients together when applying for scholarships.

If my scholarship period has already passed the maximum duration, do I still need to apply?
A
YES! You still need to submit the application. Even if your scholarship period has overed, you are still eligible to apply for Tuition and Credit Waiver.
Q
Where can I apply for a transcript, and which type should I apply for?
A
You can apply for your transcript at 2 locations:
(1) Self-service Machine near to Zhi-Dao Lecture Hall. (Across from the OIA)
(2) Office of Registrar, 3rd floor of the Teaching & Research Building.
Please apply for a full academic year transcript. (Either Chinese or English is acceptable)

If I plan to return in the upcoming semester, do I need to apply for the scholarship?
A
YES! You still need to apply according to the scholarship application schedule for the semester you plan to return.
(1) Return in Spring semester: Apply before February 1st.
(2) Return in Fall semester: Visit OIA website before June 5th for details.
Q
Can I use the Chinese course I took during my master's degree as the Chinese Proficiency Requirement while applying for the scholarship for PhD degree?
A
No! As master's and PhD programs are separate levels, NCU scholarship requirements must be fulfilled independently for each program. PhD students are still required to take a Chinese course during their current program.

Are there times when the monthly stipend might be delayed?
A
In general, the monthly stipend will be DELAYED: (1) in the first month of each semester, (2) during the Lunar New Year month. Processing time may also vary depending on administrative schedules.

If I apply for suspension, withdrawal or graduation, will it affect my monthly stipend?
A
Yes! If you complete the procedure before the 15th of the month, the scholarship for that month and any following months will not be issued. If the procedure is completed after the 15th, the scholarship for that month will still be issued, but no further payments will be issued.

If I only receive a tuition/credit waiver, is there anything I should be aware of?
A
Even with a tuition/credit waiver, miscellaneous fees will still apply. Please log in to Portal to download your payment slip, you should then pay for the remaining miscellaneous fees.
